After Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg- Mukesh Ambani becomes world’s 4th richest person

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, has taken the world by surprise after surpassing the richest man in Europe, Bernard Arnault to become the fourth wealthiest person in the world.

The massive net worth of Mr. Ambani has hiked to $80.6 billion, making him the only Asian tycoon in the exclusive club of the world’s top 5 richest people. The other 3 persons ahead of Mukesh Ambani, owner of Reliance Industries Ltd are Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

The effect of coronavirus on multinational companies has been unprecedented with many of them have suffered a huge loss. However, the Covid-19 crisis has helped Reliance Jio attracting investors. All businesses got affected during the coronavirus lockdown, but Jio has earned a whopping Rs 78,562 Crore from five investors in just one month. Global tech giants like Facebook, Silver Lake, Vista EP and General Atlantic have made a huge investment to buy a minority stake in Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio.

Jio head Mukesh Ambani has already surpassed several other billionaires in the recent week, including Elon Musk, Alphabet Inc co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, and investor and business tycoon Warren Buffet.

Earlier, global tech giant Facebook made a whopping investment of $5.7 billion to buy a minority stake in Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio. Later, American private equity firm Silver Lake invested a mind-boggling Rs 5,655.75 crore in Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries’ Jio Platforms.
