Ganguly fails to praise Kohli after India beat Pakistan, fans slam him

India locked horns with the Pakistan cricket team in the Super 12 fixture of the 9th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 tournament at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Australia.

The Men in Blue and the Men in Green fought a great battle. However, in the end, India had the last laugh in the battle. Rohit Sharma and Co restricted Pakistan to 159 in 20 overs.

Pakistan had set up a target of 160 for India. In reply, India lost openers – Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul for cheap scores, which further mounted pressure on the Indian team.

Despite all that pressure, the likes of Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya added 113 runs for the fifth wicket which did the trick for India. Kohli was the pick of the batters as he scored an unbeaten 82 off 53 balls.

He essayed as many as 6 fours and 4 sixes to his name. After the game, Kohli himself said that it is the best innings of his cricketing career.

After the game, former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly praised Team India for their memorable win over Pakistan. However, he failed to praise Virat Kohli.

Following the win, Ganguly had taken to Twitter to post, “Congratulations to the team for a fantastic win and a great start to the world cup @bcci.”

However, with the tweet having no specific mention of Virat Kohli or his knock, fans on Twitter mercilessly launched a scathing attack on the former BCCI President.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Ganguly’s tweet:-
