Mass Murder of Stray Dogs continue in Coimbatore, Authorities pay no attention to it

A dog is a faithful animal and we just can’t figure out how much love dog has for us. He is the only living being on planet earth that loves you more than he loves himself. That’s the beauty of it. Dogs are the most loyal animal, especially to human beings. They don’t talk but they understand people completely based on the body language and their behaviours.

On the dark side, life has Not been real good for stray dogs, because intentional animal cruelty keeps threatening the speechless creatures, day in and day out, in a famous city called Coimbatore. The authorities who belong to the city didn’t even bat an eye on the mass killing of dogs, in what could be one of the most heartbreaking news you’ll ever come across. It seems like Earth was made only for humans and other creatures have no right on the planet.

The Incident:

In the latest incident at Lavanya Garden in Kovaipudhur, as many as 16 dogs including five pet dogs drew their last breath after consuming poison-laced meat, probably given by some miscreants to kill the animal. Dhaval Momaya’s neighbour came running with his dog in his hands that was struggling to sustain. After that dog died, slowly, one after another including Dhaval’s dogs too died as well. It is learnt that a few packets of meat remains were found in different locations of the area.

“We took the dogs to the government veterinary polyclinic at Town Hall, which is supposed to work round the clock, only to return as the clinic was closed,” he said. Timely treatment would have saved at least some dogs,” he added as per India Times.

In what was a horrendous incident, 9 dogs had died on Saturday and seven more dogs also were died the next day from the nearby locality. It is learnt that four more dogs are undergoing treatment at the Humane Animal Society (HAS).The local residents had found the packets of meat remains at five different spots across the locality.

“All the deceased dogs were sterilized and vaccinated,” he said, explaining that both the community dogs and the pet dogs were treated on same standards as the dogs are never a threat in their community. Sterilization is nothing but a surgical method to remove the reproductive organs without causing any form of damage to the animals. It surely does not hurt.

“It’s been almost a year since the sterilization of dogs were carried out in the locality,” said P Mohan Prasanth, social worker, emphasising the fact that just his street in Kovaipudhur alone has about 20 dogs and some of them failed health and got affected by rabbis, thus spreading the disease to human beings.

Stray dogs don’t trouble you and do not ask you for anything in return but will remain loyal to you when you would just toss a crunchy biscuit at them. It is proven fact that stray dogs collectively can give real-time protection to all the houses at night. With many more advantages, that they can offer to us, it is really disheartening to see such living creatures being poisoned by unknown people at the worst scene.

Despite the fact that the animal rights activists continue to fight for the welfare of animals, the city has been facing instances of dogs, especially stray dogs, being poisoned to death quite often, which is totally unacceptable by any means. This goes to show that something is really wrong in the city and the necessary action has to be taken in a bid to prevent the mass killing of dogs.

Intentional animal cruelty is deemed contrary to the spirit of the human race and when will the humans understand the virtual importance of it? As citizens of the country, we should be against animal cruelty that is being done purposely. We need your complete support. It would be of great assistance if people with moral values can share and spread this news to create awareness.
