Bill Gates announces to donate money to lower the Covid19 vaccine price to $3 per dose

Microsoft founder Bill Gates is the talk of the town after he announced that he would donate  $150 million to the Serum Institute of India. This will bring the price of coronavirus vaccine down to $3 per patient (₹225 for Indians). This will also help people from lower-income countries buy medication. When it comes to helping others at the need of the hour, Bill Gates is second to none.

Day by day, respect for Bill Gates is growing and it is because of the good things that he has been doing from the bottom of the heart. From running one of the world’s biggest nonprofits to donating billions of dollars to improve teaching in public schools, he is always there for everyone. Once again, he has come out to support another good initiative.

Bill Gates has been offering funds left, right and centre to curb the coronavirus pandemic, whether it is testing kits or vaccine development. And now, he has announced that he will offer $150 million to bring down the prices of COVID-19 vaccines as low as $3 per dose.

“We’re trying to make sure we can end it not just in the rich countries,” Gates said in an interview with Bloomberg this week, stressing that he is focusing on the vaccines in development that would be affordable in the developing world, such as those being pursued by the pharmaceutical companies AstraZeneca and Novavax. “Those are the ones most scalable and low-cost.”

In a recent interview, the philanthropist said he was optimistic that the coronavirus vaccine will be developed soon, and that the “rich world” should largely be able to end the pandemic by 2021 end, while the “world at large” will finally eliminate the virus by the end of 2022. As coronavirus cases continue to pile up, let’s hope he’s right.

Bill Gates is a man of his words. He doesn’t believe in announcements but believes in a practical approach. His selfless activities and massive contribution to society in the crisis serve as a testament to the fact. This quality makes Bill Gates the richest person in the world.
