A minor girl raped and buried by a man in Churu, Rajasthan, accused “Akram Khan” arrested

A heinous rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl took everyone by shock. Rape is the fourth most common crime in India. The level of rape cases in the country is rising at an alarming rate.

A minor girl was allegedly abducted and raped by a 21-year-old man in Churu district, Rajasthan. The incident took place in Rajasthan’s Churu district. The accused was identified as Akram Khan, who is a neighbor of the victim. 

“We have detained the accused and he will be arrested after the victim records her statement. The girl is undergoing treatment at a private hospital,” Churu SP Tejaswini Gautam said.

It is said that the girl went to the market on Monday night but did not return home since then. Her mother was at home while her father had gone out for some work when the alleged incident took place, the police said.

After the girl went missing, the family started looking for her and filed a complaint. The body of the victim was found at a scheduled place by her family members. She was soon rushed to the hospital where she is fighting for life or death. The victim’s head was bleeding and she received severe injuries. 

Police said that the accused lived in the neighborhood of the victim. After the rape, the accused also tried to bury her body alive in a deserted house. The victim was a student of class 3rd. However, the accused has been arrested by police

“We had detained the accused but he managed to escape from the police station this evening. Our teams are chasing him and he will be caught,” Churu SP Tejaswini Gautam said.

A case was registered against the accused under IPC sections 376 (rape), 363 (kidnapping) and 307 (attempt to murder) and under sections of the POCSO Act, the police said.
