Sikkim’s new CM announces 5-day week for state govt employees

The newly appointed CM of Sikkim, CM Golay has some good news to Sikkim citizens regarding the working day schedule.

Before that, CM Golay’s party, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), won 17 of the 32 Assembly seats in the April 11 general election.

The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha also clinched the only Lok Sabha seat in the state soon after taking charge at his office, Golay, the 6th CM of the Himalayan State, announced a 5-day working week for the state government employees.

“We have fulfilled one of our election promises to reduce the working week for government employees from six days earlier to five days,” he said.

The government employees will also get an extra day as holiday which they will use to take care of their health and that of their parents and family members, he added.
