Girl raised fund for her heart surgery, but donated to Kerala flood victims

The phrase “Do good, Be good and See good” completely complies with Akshaya who is a 12-year-old girl from Tamil Nadu. The sad part is she is suffering from a congenital heart disease and she needs a whopping amount to undergo an operation.

She won the hearts of the fans after when she donated Rs 5,000 to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund in a bid to help the suffers. What really makes it worth appreciating Akshaya is that she donated some part of the amount from the money she had raised for her surgery.

Isn’t she a great soul? When she came to know that lakhs of people faced an unpleasant experience of flash flood disaster where Kerala victims called for help, Akshaya did her maximum best to donate something to the Kerala people. She had actually raised Rs 20,000 through crowdfunding, out of which she contributed Rs 5,000 to the flood victims in Kerala.

Taking note of her heart-touching gesture, the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) located in Thiruvananthapuram stepped forward to take care of Akshaya as free surgery will be done to her which would have cost her Rs 2.5 lakhs.

“We learned that she had donated a portion of the money that she saved for her surgery towards Kerala relief fund. We are trying to track her and help her with the surgery,” SCTIMST director Dr Asha Kishore told The Times of India.
