Andhra Government to sell properties of Tirupati temple, South Indian actor alone protests the decision

In a shocking development, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government decided to sell properties belonging to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Telugu Superstar Pawan Kalyan has said that selling TTD lands will set a negative example for other temple properties in the country. The actor further said that it would hurt the sentiments of the devotees as the temple attracts as many as 80,000 to 100,000 devotees daily. However, the temple hasn’t been opened for over 50 days due to coronavirus lockdown.

The decision has created a major controversy with the opposition parties and Hindu organisations fiercely opposing it on the ground it would hurt the sentiments of the devotees.

Pawan Kalayn stated, “We will put all our efforts on AP Govt to withdraw their sale proposal.” Tejasvi Surya had said that the AP Govt’s decision to sell assets of Tirupati Devasthanam is highly deplorable and must be opposed tooth & nail.

He requested Pawan Kalyan and and BJP in AP to fight the issue until the govt reverses it’s stand. “In the longterm, we must get temples out of state control.”, he tweeted.

Jana Sena Party Chief, Pawan Kalyan wrote, “All Hindu Religious Institutions and Organizations look upto TTD. As the largest and one of the richest  religious institutions of the world, TTD must set a good example and best practices for others to follow.”

“I request all Lord Balaji Devotees , Janasainiks, Veermahilas and JSP Leaders to participate in this hunger protest against the sale of TTD lands by AP Govt.”, he tweeted.

Social media users also endorsed Pawan Kalyan’s tweet and they vent out their anger at the government for a bad decision. Hindus have also come in support of Pawan Kalyan. The government is now facing an ire of people for auctioning away land.

Pawan Kalyan urged all devotees of Lord Balaji to participate in a hunger strike against the TTD’s proposed decision of selling 50 immovable assets, donated by devotees.

It should be noted that TTD trust’s average monthly income used to stand around Rs 200-220 crore while post-lockdown, the temple raised no revenue as it has been closed to devotees.
