Meanwhile, Anand Mahindra’s tweet has won the hearts of the people after Rishi Sunak became the first Indian-origin PM of the UK.

“In 1947 on the cusp of Indian Independence, Winston Churchill supposedly said, “…all Indian leaders will be of low calibre & men of straw.” Today, during the 75th year of our Independence, we’re poised to see a man of Indian origin anointed as PM of the UK. Life is beautiful,” Mahindra wrote on Twitter.

“One of the best things about being Chancellor is working in some of Britain’s most historic buildings. This week I went to the balcony where Churchill made his victory speech 75 years ago today. It reminded me that when Britain comes together we can overcome anything,” said an earlier post by Sunak.

For the unversed, Rishi is son-in-law of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy. Rishi is married to Infosys founder Narayana Murthy’s daughter Akshata Murthy in 2009, whom he first met at Stanford.

Talking about Rishi Sunak’s early life, education and political career, he is of Indian origin and his family settled there. Rishi was born in Southampton, Hampshire, in the year 1980. He did his schooling at Winchester College. Later on, he studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.

In addition to that, he has done an MBA from Stanford University. Rishi’s father works as a doctor whereas his mother used to run a chemist shop. In his early days, Rishi used to work with his mother in her chemist shop.

Before trying his hand in the field of politics in the year 2015, Rishi plied his trade in investment bank Goldman Sash and hedge funds. After gaining much-needed experience in this stream, he decided to create his own investment firm.
