In what turned out to be a bizarre wedding in Indonesia, bride and groom got divorced within a month after tying the knot. Yes, the news which is going viral on social media is shocking.
If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then a 78-year-old man got married to a 17-year-old girl last month and barely within a month, the couple has gone separate ways. The couple, identified as Abah Sarna, 78, and his wife Noni Navita, 17, who got married last month filed for divorce last week.
The newlyweds had caught everyone’s attention on social media because of their vast age difference. When Abah sent a divorce letter to Noni, her family was left in shock as they did not find any problems in the relationship.
“I was shocked because there was no ‘wind and storm’, it suddenly became like this,” Noni’s sister Iyan was quoted as saying by the Harian Metro.
“Our family has no problem with Abah Sarna. However, the problem came from Abah Sarna and his family who seemed to object to the marriage,” she added.
There were allegations that Abah Sarna divorced his wife Noni because she was pregnant before marriage, however, Iyan denied the allegations. When things went from bad to worse, the couple decided to live apart and the couple was divorced in a short period of time.
Abah had given RM 2,819 (Rs 50,000) along with a motorcycle, mattress and closet to Noni. The dowry had also caught the attention of social media users as it had to be transported by a truck.
Marriage is for the ones who never give up unconditional ‘love’ no matter what happens between the two. Understanding and forgiving a person is the best way to strengthen the relationship.
