Sadhvi Pragya expelled from the parliamentary panel after calling Nathuram Godse a patriot

Sadhvi Pragya’s remark has created a stir in the parliament. The incident has come to light just a day after MP Sadhvi Pragya praised Nathuram Godse who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi. Pragya called Nathuram Godse a patriot. However, BJP working president JP Nadda condemned her remarks and recommended disciplinary action against her. Nadda also said that Thakur will be dropped from the consultative committee on defence, to which she was recently appointed. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also condemned her remarks and said the party doesn’t support any remarks that describe Godse as a patriot.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a dig at BJP over her remarks. He tweeted, “Terrorist Pragya calls terrorist Godse, a patriot”. He added, A sad day in the history of India’s parliament.

Earlier, when Rahul was asked a question about this, he said, “ I do not want to speak about that woman. She is a soul of RSS and BJP, No matter how much respect she has for Mahatma Gandhi. I do not want to waste my time, action needs to be taken against her. Rahul said,

On Wednesday, during the proceedings of the Parliament in the Lok Sabha, Sadhvi Pragya called Nathuram Godse a patriot. Although, this statement was removed later. But opposition members protested her statement. Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur is the MP from Bhopal. After her remarks, the opposition got a chance to attack the BJP. however, Thakur has been removed from the committee of the Ministry of Defense. She will not be able to attend the BJP parliamentary party meetings during the current session as well.
