In shocking news, Chhatrapal Singh Rawat, who is a BJP worker from Madhya Pradesh, was found murdered in Gwalior on Monday. This is third such murder of a BJP worker in the state happening within a week. Another BJP office-bearer by the name of Magan Siddiqui was badly injured after he was reportedly assaulted in Jabalpur on Sunday.
While the cops ruled out political rivalry behind the killings, the party people staged protests against it. It should be noted that Chhatrapal used to work as a bus conductor and had gone for work on Sunday. But when he did not return in the evening, the family got scared and upset as they registered a police complaint.
After search operation, on Monday afternoon, Chhatrapal’s body was found near river Parvati. On further investigation, it has been learnt that there were injury marks left on his body. The body has been processed for postmortem and further investigation is carried out.
According to the reports, Chhatrapal was the cousin of Narendra Rawat, BJP district (rural) secretary. Narendra Rawat was preparing effigies (an object that represents someone) of Congress workers to protest against these killings of BJP workers when police notified him of his cousin’s murder.
Previously on Sunday, Balwadi BJP leader Manoj Thackeray was found murdered in a field after he had gone for a usual walk in the morning. Before that, Mandsaur BJP leader Prahlad Bandhwar was shot dead in broad daylight.
