In a brutal incident, a three-month pregnant cow in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district was attacked and raped by a group of unidentified men.
The cops were notified by a dairy farmer by the Nama Buchicharaju, who, in his complaint alleged that his cow had gone missing since Sunday in the district’s Pithapuram Mandalam area. Following a search operation, the animal was discovered as it was tied to a nearby tree with bleeding genitals, according to a police officer.
A local veterinarian, after going through cow’s body confirmed that the gentle creature was sexually assaulted. The Pithapuram rural PS police filed a case under section 2(1) (a) of ‘Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960’ and an investigation has begun to find more details.
As soon as the news spread like wildfire, the locals marched to the police station and staged a protest, demanding ‘immediate arrest’ of the culprits. Many such incidents of cruelty towards animals have been reported in recent months.
