Andhra Pradesh Govt gifts Cars & Smartphones to ‘Unemployed Brahmin youths’

As the elections are inching closer to the scheduled date, the Andhra Pradesh government is distributing super cool gifts like smartphones and Swift Dzire cars to unemployed Brahmin youths of the state.

Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu previously said that the state is required to shower as many as 14 million smartphones. The Chief Minister also distributed 30 Swift Dzire cars among the unemployed youth today in Amravati, as reported by India Today.

The gifts distribution is taking place under the self-employment programme. The Brahmin Welfare Corporation will dispense a maximum of Rs 2 lakh as subsidy and the beneficiary has to bear 10% of the cost of the vehicle and the left out amount will be provided by the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Cooperative Credit Society as a repayable loan in the monthly instalments.

It has been learnt that the welfare corporation approved 50 cars in the first phase. So far, nearly 1.5 lakh people have been benefited by the Brahmin corporation.
