Dilip Kumar

Dev Anand was born Dharam Dev Kundan Lal Pishorimal Anand in Gurdaspur district in undivided Punjab to a well-to-do barrister Pishorimal Anand. As a result of his acting ambitions, he relocated to Mumbai, India’s film industry capital.
Dev began his working life as a stenographer at the military censor office in Churchgate, Mumbai, earning Rs 160 per month.
