Chennai Super Kings legend Suresh Raina has predicted the winner of the IPL 2024 season and interestingly, it’s not MS Dhoni-led CSK. Instead, he picked Royal Challengers Bangalore to come out on top in the battle.
Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to win a title since the inception of the Indian Premier League. They failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last season where they finished sixth on the points table.
“Virat deserves a trophy. He has performed so well for the Men in Blue and the Royal Challengers Bangalore over the years. He has enjoyed success at RCB and now it’s time that he puts his hands on the trophy,” Raina told Times of India.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have made it to the finals on three occasions but lost to Deccan Chargers (now-defunct), Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals. They qualified for the playoffs in the IPL 2022 season but failed to make the cut in the 2023 season.
CSK were crowned the champions of the IPL 2023 edition as they got the better of Gujarat Titans in the showdown. They will kick-start their title defence on March 22 as they play against Royal Challengers Bangalore at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
