Ravi Ashwin gives Classy reply to Pakistani fan who reminded him of Shahid Afridi’s Sixes in Asia Cup 2014

Ravi Ashwin is currently part of the India squad for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma and the team management backed the off-spinner in the squad. India will surely benefit from Ashwin’s experience and skill in the marquee event.

Team India will kick-start their World Cup 2023 campaign on October 8 (Sunday) as they will play against the Australian cricket team at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

After that, Team India will play against the Pakistan cricket team on October 14 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which will kick off on Saturday. Meanwhile, one of the Pakistani fans trolled Ravi Ashwin by reminding him of Shahid Afridi’s sixes in Asia Cup 2014.

For the unversed, Shahid Afridi smacked two sixes off Ravi Ashwin in Asia Cup 2014 tournament. The fan took to Twitter and wrote, “Shahid Afridi Still remembers those two sixes.”

The tweet caught the attention of Ravi Ashwin and the latter decided to chip in with a classy reply. His reply spread like wildfire on the internet.

Axar Patel was initially drafted into Team India’s 15-man provisional World Cup squad. Nevertheless, he sustained a left quadriceps strain injury during the Asia Cup 2023 game against Bangladesh.

As a result, his injury kept him out of the Asia Cup final, which saw Washington Sundar taking his position. Besides that, he missed the subsequent ODI series against Australia, where Ravichandran Ashwin made a comeback and secured his spot in the World Cup squad.
