Global Peace Foundation, A front-runner against the drug menace, holds camps, workshops, and rallies to raise awareness under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan across Jammu and Kashmir

One of the most philanthropic organizations in Jammu and Kashmir under the banner of the Global Peace Foundation is a leading name in the field of a social cause that gives birth to creating a niche through its umpteenth flagships program like “Food for All during Covid 19 pandemic, Educational awareness, Free Library, Cancer awareness, and support, prevention of elder abuse, etc, has now launched a crusade against the deadly menace of drug abuse across whole Jammu and Kasmir.

The foundation through its slogans of “Save Youth, Save Nation under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” is raising awareness in different states and districts to collectively fight the menace of drug abuse, trafficking, and alcoholism. The society is proactively involved with all stakeholders of police, administration, social groups, educational institutions, and law enforcement agencies to formulate a cohesive program for eradicating substance abuse to save the human resources of the country.

The foundation conducted awareness in different villages of Kathua, Samba involving school children, women folk, and self-help groups ( SHG) to identify, counsel, and report the cases to the concerned authorities in earlier stages. Besides, open discussion sessions, rallies, and question-answer sessions were held with the groups to reach the real root and its scientific eradication.

The foundation through a volunteer base in Chenab Valley conducted various workshops, debates, camps, and rallies in Chenab Valley as well to aware the masses of the increasing rate of drug abuse in this pristine valley where police have already tightened the noose around. The foundation has formulated an extensive program, the blueprint of which has been submitted to the district administration, social welfare department, and police for their final approval.

Besides the foundation also carried out an extensive tour and awareness drive in Jammu district in different peripheral villages involving PRI members, religious heads, social workers, and prominent citizens to make a collective policy to fight the menace of drug supply and abuse.

Alongside, their programs and rallies, pledge ceremonies were held to convince, motivate and resolve the stand of zero tolerance against this social evil that has crept into our society destroying innocent lives and wastage national resources.

The Society has formulated a long-term plan to achieve its objectives with the support of law enforcement agencies and the general masses. The President of the foundation Mr. Junaid Malik and Executive Committee member Mr. Shafqat Sheikh along with dozens of members have submitted a detailed representation to the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment with detailed data on drug abuse for its prevention and treatment of drug addicts.
