Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is a popular Indian film director, film producer, screenwriter and author who plies his trade in Hindi cinema.

As of 2022, Vivek Agnihotri is a member of the board of India’s Central Board of Film Certification and a cultural representative of Indian Cinema at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

For the record, Vivek Agnihotri made his directorial debut with the crime thriller Chocolate (2005). He has directed several movies since which failed to steer his career forward until The Tashkent Files (2019) which turned out to be a commercial success and earned him the National Film Award for Best Screenplay – Dialogues.

It is worth mentioning that he wrote and directed The Kashmir Files (2022) which turned out to be one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of 2022.

For the record, his movies often tackle social and political themes, and he has been known to be outspoken on several issues happening in the country. Recently, Vivek Agnihotri asked a Twitter user who asked him to feed the poor and needy rather than promote his book. It all started when Vivek Agnihotri took to his social media portal and announced that he will be issuing free books to those who can’t afford them.

He wrote: “A great book by @subhash_kak and @GarudaPrakashan. At @i_ambuddha Foundation we will be sending lots of this great book FREE to those who can’t afford it. Details coming soon.”

Meanwhile, one of the Twitter users wrote, “Instead of these books, please feed poor people free (folded hands emojis).”

Meanwhile, Vivek gave it back to the Twitter user, who attemped to troll him. He wrote,“Kuch aap bhi karenge ki sab main hi karoon?”
