Day by day, shocking and disturbing visuals have been increasing in the country and it is so sad to see these things happening in the first place. Meanwhile, yet another disturbing video spread like wildfire on social media portals. According to the clip, two women from Manipur can be seen being stripped, paraded naked and attacked, which left the entire nation in shock.
This particular incident happened on May 4 in Kangpokpi district, just a day after violence erupted suddenly in the northeast state. In the wake of the shocking incident, several Bollywood celebrities took to their respective social media handles and expressed their anger at the disturbing video after it surfaced on social media.
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar who is well known for his philanthropic activities expressed his disgust on his official Twitter handle. He disclosed that he is totally ‘shaken’ and ‘disgusted’ by the violence against women in Manipur.
“Shaken, disgusted to see the video of violence against women in Manipur. I hope the culprits get such a harsh punishment that no one ever thinks of doing a horrifying thing like this again,” Akshay Kumar wrote.
Sonu Sood who is known for his humanitarian works took to Twitter and wrote, “Manipur video has shaken everyone’s soul. It was humanity that was paraded..not the women💔💔”
Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Kiara Advani took to her Twitter handle and then appealed for ‘severe punishment’ against the culprits.
“The video of violence against women in Manipur is horrifying and has shaken me to the core. I pray the women get justice at the earliest. Those responsible must face the most SEVERE punishment they deserve,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, a case of abduction, gang rape and murder was filed against unknown people. “All three women were physically forced to remove their clothes and were stripped naked in front of the mob,” the FIR stated.
As per the complaint, the mob first murdered a man, and later forced two women to strip naked. The 19-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped, and her brother was murdered when he tried to intervene.
