Ever since Shark Tank India was introduced to the Indian audience, everyone has been talking about the creative products and services that were displayed by the Entrepreneurs and innovators in the country. The platform has made it easy for small business owners in India to get exposure and big-time business deals.
In General, the show has created a new sphere of opportunity in the country, one that was not present when the panellists of Shark Tank India were as amateur as the people they review now.
Many of the judges have managed to achieve success in their founding companies at a time when such a show was not around. Most of the judges are self-made successes that had to struggle before they owned million-dollar businesses.
Ashneer Grover says he won’t watch Shark Tank India 2
Ashneer Grover is the co-founder/ managing director at BharatPe, an Indian-based electronic payment app. After completing his MBA, he worked as the vice president in Kotak Financing Bank till 2013, when he left to take up the position of the Director of Corporate Development at American Express.
He left American Express in 2015 to work as the ChiefFinancial Officer of Grofers till 2017 when he left to join PC Jeweller Limited. It was only after 2018 that he became a business owner.
Case in point, Amit Jain had replaced Ashneer in Shark Tank India season 2. Meanwhile, speaking about his absence from Shark Tank India season 2, Ashneer Grover said that he doesn’t even track what was actually happening on Shark Tank India season.
Ashneer said on The Ranveer Show, “Mereko lagta hai separation clean hona chahiye. Jab main Shark Tank mein nahi bhi tha, season two mein, jitne bhi sharks they, unko maine social media se unfollow kar diya. Yaar ab woh tumhari game hai, tum khelo. Main kyun har roz dekhun ki Shark Tank ki shoot pe behind-the-scenes kya chal raha hai? Ab meri life ka part hi nahi hai, toh main kyu past mein rahun? Jab se clear hogaya tha ki mai season two mein nahi hoon, maine baaki sharks ko unfollow kar diya tha
(Translation: I feel there should be separation between the show and my life now. I have even unfollowed the sharks from Shark Tank India. The show is theirs now, they should play the game. Why should I see what is happening on Shark Tank India shoot. The show is not a part of my life now, so why should I live in the past? When it became clear that I am not a part of season 2, I unfollowed all the sharks on social media.)”
