After improvisation on the Ghaziabad- Mughalsarai train route, Indian Railways have seen unbelievable improvement in the punctuality in recent times. Now trains are arriving bang on time. Majorly Mail and Express trains are running on time which has caused the graph to move up.

The overall punctually rate has improved by 82.09%, reported by NDTV website.

Indian trains are infamous for mostly arriving late at stations. There is not just one but many factors which play behind the bad performance such as poor infrastructure, lack of modernization, extremely low ticket costs which lead the railways to suffer a loss every year.

The overall punctuality rate has increased owing to a series of recent steps taken by the government which has worked in favour. However, the challenge for the government would still be mounting on their head to change the fortune.

Overwhelmed by complaints of late-arriving of trains, railways has created a quick Mobility Directorate to improve performance in passenger service and speed up freight movement.

Although there are numerous factors degrading punctuality like over-crowded route with maximum railway movement, technical glitches and asset (locomotive and coach) or traction failures, judicious steps are being taken to decongest the route as well as improving assets, said the official.
