“We have to do it (help the families);’ said Vijender. “We are a country of more than a billion people. If every individual donates just one rupee, it will be in excess of a billion (rupees).

“I know money is not that important but at least we can show our respect for the families that lost a father, a son, a brother. We have to look after them because it’s our responsibility. They lost their lives while protecting us,” said Vijender Singh.

“We (sportspersons) also should talk about it, as citizens of India. If people follow you, admire you, then you should also speak against something wrong (that has happened). I am not just a sportsperson, I am also a father and a son, and I also have some responsibility towards my nation. I should fulfill that too,” Vijender said.

“I’m donating my one month’s salary for the martyrs of #PulwamaTerrorAttack and want everyone to come forward and support the families. It is our moral duty to always standby them and make them feel proud of their sacrifices. Jai Hind ??????,” Vijender Singh wrote.
