Meet Iqbal Ansari- an ex litigant of Babri Masjid, now supports PM Modi

Iqbal Ansari, a supporter of the Babri Masjid, has said that he wants PM Modi to become Prime Minister again. Iqbal Ansari stated that PM Narendra Modi’s last 10 years in government have been brilliant, and they want him to become PM again. Speaking to the media for the first time after the Ram Lalla idol installation ceremony in Ayodhya, Ansari said, “PM Modi is fortunate that his election campaign is starting from the city of Lord Ram.”

Iqbal Ansari, a key figure in the Babri Masjid dispute, was invited to multiple events related to the Ram temple in Ayodhya, including the consecration ceremony on January 22, 2024. On December 30, Ansari was gathered to welcome PM Modi in Ayodhya during the inauguration of a railway station and an airport. He also attended events welcoming PM Modi in December 2023 and the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony in August 2020.

During the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony, he said, ‘ Ayodhya has Ganga-Jamuni culture and all religions are equally respected here. Perhaps it was Lord Ram’s wish, so I have been invited to this event. There is no difference between Hindus and Muslims living in Ayodhya. The Supreme Court has now resolved the matter.’ His father Hashim Ansari was the oldest litigant in the Babri Masjid land dispute case. At the age of 95, he passed away in 2016. After which Iqbal Ansari started pursuing the case in the court.

Expressing confidence in PM Modi’s victory in the third term, Iqbal Ansari said that he is “100 percent sure” that the BJP government will come to power for the third time as many people are expecting the same, via online reports. The last tenure of the Prime Minister was beneficial for the country’s people. He helped the people and provided them with employment opportunities, which led to many developments in the country without any discrimination towards the people.
