Karnataka: “Pakistan Zindabad” slogan raised as Congress Muslim candidate wins RS election

A controversy arose with the victory of a Muslim candidate of Congress in the recently held Rajya Sabha elections in the state of Karnataka when people and Congress workers raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad”. Whose video has gone viral on Twitter and netizens strongly condemn it.

In the recent Rajya Sabha elections, the Congress party clinched three seats, dealing a setback to the BJP, which managed to secure only one seat. The victory for the Congress came with Ajay Maken, GC Chandrashekhar, and Syed Naseer Hussain being elected to the Upper House, while Narayansa Bhandage represented the BJP. The elections witnessed reports of cross-voting, adding a twist to the political dynamics. The voting process involved elected legislators casting their votes. Among the five candidates vying for four seats, JD(S)’s D Kupendra Reddy faced defeat in the electoral contest.

After the election results, when the Muslim candidate of Congress won, some workers raised opposition slogans to celebrate the victory of Congress candidate Nasir Hussain and those who raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” directly protested against the state. The political atmosphere became more intense.

BJP leader R. Ashoka shared the post on Twitter and wrote, ‘”This is a direct result of the dangerous game of appeasement politics of CM Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar, which has given rise to anti-national elements and Tukde Tukde gang. ” After seeing the viral post, netizens strongly condemned the Congress workers and shared various reactions expressing their views.
