Monkey Robbery in Uttar Pradesh: ₹1.5 Lakhs Stolen from Bike’s Trunk

A monkey outside the registry office in Uttar Pradesh stole a bag filled with one and a half million rupees from a motorcyclist and was caught on camera. This incident’s video has become extremely viral on social media. However, officials say it is unlikely that the monkey has become rich as the money it stole. The incident took place on Tuesday in Shahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The owner of the bike, Sharafat Hussain, had come to the registry office to sell a document. The video shows that outside the registry office, the monkey is inspecting the bags attached to all the bikes in the parking area. After thoroughly searching all the bags that were presented, it grabbed one bag and ran away, which contained ₹1.5 lakhs in cash. It appeared from the video that it had been doing this before as well.

When Mr. Hussain found out that the money had been stolen, chaos ensued outside the office. However, by that time, the monkey had disappeared from the scene. Since the monkey’s act had been captured on video, the person whose money had gone missing started following the monkey’s trail. After a lot of difficulty, the monkey was finally seen sitting on a tree. Eventually, even the monkey understood that no good would come from the money, so it threw away the bag with the money. The crowd managed to retrieve the bag, which still contained all the money.

Monkey terror is increasing in cities. Some monkeys trouble everyone with their mischief, while some have started biting people. The district administration has acknowledged the menace of monkeys in Shahabad and stated that a team will be appointed soon to catch the animals and release them into the jungle. Anil Kumar, the Deputy District Magistrate of Shahabad, said that they will first make concerted efforts to reduce the monkey menace in the most affected areas and then implement it throughout the region if necessary. Urgent action is needed to handle this issue effectively.
