R. Parthiban is one of the best actors in the history of the Kollywood industry. He is an excellent actor and drew plaudits for his incredible performances. The Indian actor and filmmaker works predominantly in Tamil cinema.

Notably, he has directed 14 films, produced 12 films and featured in more than 60 films. He kick-started his career as assistant director for K. Bhagyaraj in 1984. The duo combined together and worked in over 20 films from 1984 to 1991.

He is known for having directed critically acclaimed movies such as Pudhiya Paadhai (1989) and Housefull (1999) won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. The 64-year-old also won National Film Award – Special Jury Award in Otha Seruppu Size 7 (2019).

His performances as an actor are in successful films including the likes of Bharathi Kannamma (1997), Nee Varuvai Ena (1999), Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), Azhagi (2002), Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Melvilasom (2011) and Otha Seruppu Size 7 (2019).

On 25 December 2018, he was roped in as the new Vice President of the Tamil Film Producers Council. As a result, he replaced Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prakash Raj who were jointly holding the position until 24 December 2018.

Meanwhile, the veteran actor made the headlines for the wrong reason. In fact, director Parthiban and AR Rahman launched the first song from their forthcoming film by the name of Iravin Nizhal, on Sunday (May 1).

At the event, Parthiban lost his calm and even threw the microphone at the audience. This left AR Rahman, reporters and fans shocked. Later, the actor understood his mistake and expressed his apology for his act. He also added that he was under a lot of pressure and didn’t think it through.
