Rohit Sharma is one of the best cricketers in the world. He is also the most successful captain in the history of the Indian Premier League as he led Mumbai Indians to five titles. More importantly, he is also the most successful player in terms of most titles won as a player.

He has won six titles as a player. For the uninitiated, Rohit Sharma was part of the Deccan Chargers franchise (now-defunct) that won the first title in the IPL 2008 season. Deccan Chargers defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore to win their maiden title.

Currently, Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian cricket team across all three formats. He is gearing up for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. Under Rohit’s captaincy, India won 12 games on the trot, which is quite a sensational record.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma lauded Virat Kohli for his contributions to Indian cricket in the last 5 years in Test cricket. While addressing the reporters at the pre-match press conference ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka, Rohit said,” What Kohli has done with Test side in the last 5 years has been brilliant. I am just picking up from there.

“Excited to begin as captain. I don’t think we have done much wrong in the last 2-3 years or so. But need to correct all mistakes that we’ve made in the past. The best memory of Virat Kohli will be the 2013 South Africa Test series. The wickets were challenging and he scored a magnificent hundred. This will stay forever, As a team, the 2018 win in Australia in which Kohli was the captain was memorable,” he added.
