Mechanic who repaired railways tracks clear UPSC exams, becomes IPS officer

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is considered one of the toughest exams in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Everyone dreams to clear the Civil Services Exam, but very few are fortunate to crack the exam. Today, we are talking about such a man named Prahlad Sahay Meena who cracked the exam in his fourth attempt, while many people hesitate to appear for the second attempt if they fail the civil services exam.

Well, how many of us know that Sky is the limit for an individual? Mr.Prahlad Meena proved anything in the world is possible and going even by the word ‘impossible’ says I’m possible.

Mr.Prahlad has achieved something incredible in his life which others can only dream of. He left the government job 5 times because he wanted to become a senior officer.

For Prahlada Meena, becoming an IPS officer was the ultimate goal. Therefore, he started preparing for the UPSC exam. However, he failed three times in UPSC and once in RPSC before touching the pinnacle of success. Despite facing the difficulties in his career, he didn’t let the negativity get the better of him as he managed to tackle every snippet of move to clear one of the toughest UPSC civil service exams.

You will be surprised to know that Prahlada Sahay used to work as a gangman on the railway track in Odisha and used to take care of and repair the tracks. But both his luck and hard work supported him and today he is an IPS officer in Odisha. 

Prahlada’s story teaches us grit, determination and to not give up no matter how hard the situation is. Born on 27 February 1988, his entire childhood was spent in the village. He studied in a government school and was topper in 10th class.

Prahlada wanted to become an engineer but he could not go out of the village due to financial constraints. In such a situation, he took the Faculty of Arts in 12th and also got the first place in it.

It is to be noted that Prahlada had failed the Civil Services Examination for three consecutive years and then he finally managed to crack the UPSC exam in his 4th attempt. 

In 2013, Prahlada came to Delhi and started preparing for the Civil Services Examination. He passed the Preliminary Examination and reached the main examination in the years 2013 and 2014. In 2015 he failed the Preliminary Examination. Eventually, he cleared the Civil Services Examination in the year 2016 and in the year 2017 became the Indian Police Service.

Only a successful person knows how many obstacles lying in his way to success, he had to clear to accomplish his ultimate mission. Many would argue that success is an everlasting journey, however, every one of us would agree that turning the biggest dream into a reality is no less than success since it brings a smile on face and happiness in life.

He has now become an inspiration for many youths who dream to be IAS or IPS. He has achieved what others dream of. Many people read his inspirational story and get motivated. Let’s praise him for a big achievement.
