Woman forgets bag with Rs 58,000 at Delhi Metro Station, CISF returns it safely

Stories of people forgetting their belongings in public places are many. In the majority of the cases, most of them don’t manage to get their valuables back once they have lost it. However, good people are setting a great example by returning the lost items back to the owners.

In a recent incident, a woman forgot her bag which had Rs.58,000 in it. However, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel returned the bag safely to a woman and also received plaudits for his honesty and integrity.

A senior citizen identified as Kanta thanked the security personnel at the metro station for returning her bag and keeping it safe. The incident happened at the Green Park metro station, Delhi when Kanta forgot to take her bag from the X-BIS (X-Ray Baggage Inspection System).

The incident came to view on Tuesday morning, when the CISF personnel spotted an unclaimed bag at the X-BIS at the metro station. Upon checking the bag for security purposes, he had transported the bag to the Station Controller room where they opened the bag and learnt that there was Rs 58,820 in cash inside. Moreover, there were several documents with a contact number inside the bag.

The personnel contacted the number recovered from the bag. The woman arrived at the Green Park metro station and was taken to the Station Controller Room where the officers handed over her bag after cross-checking her credentials. She went on to thank the CISF personnel for their honesty.
