In a sensational achievement, a 26-year-old tribal girl hailing from the remote Rangamura village in Khowai district in Tripura has written a success story for herself by becoming the first-ever woman Air Traffic Controller (ATC) of the state.
The girl identified as Bipasha Hrangkhawal is a graduate in Electronics and Telecommunication engineering from Mumbai University, according to a report in the Times of India stated.

She started her career as an Assistant Air Traffic Controller in the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, in the year 2017. But she was moved to the MBB Airport after a couple of months as she had to take care of her ailing father.
Bipasha explained that her father always wanted to see her working as an ATC and it was a dream-come-true moment for her and her father.
“After being persuaded by my father, I had applied for the post. But I had no idea about the pattern of questions and style of interview. I had started preparing and researching the job profile before the interview,” Bipasha was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
After successfully cracking the interview, Bipasha underwent a six-month training. Today, she is feeling extremely proud of herself.
“I feel proud that I am sitting in the ATC guiding aircraft. Working at the ATC is considered to be one of the most difficult jobs since we are constantly dealing with a number of flights carrying hundreds of passengers. One silly mistake can finish everything in seconds,” she said.
