In a huge development, Russia conferred Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the country’s highest civilian award. Modi has been bestowed with the Order of Saint Andrew the Apostle for his fruitful services in uplighting special and privileged strategic ties between Russia and India.
“On April 12, Narendra Modi was decorated with the Order of St Andrew the Apostle for exceptional services in promoting special and privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India, and friendly relations between the Russian and Indian peoples,” the Russian embassy in India tweeted.

In case you didn’t know, in 1698, Tsar Peter the Great had set up the Order in the honour of Saint Andrew, the first of 12 disciples of Jesus Christ and patron saint of Russia.
Previously this month, the UAE honoured PM Modi with the prestigious Zayed Medal for his constant efforts to boost bilateral strategic ties.
President of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured Prime Minister with the award, the highest decoration awarded to kings, presidents and heads of states.
“We have historical and comprehensive strategic ties with India, reinforced by the pivotal role of my dear friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who gave these relations a big boost. In appreciation of his efforts, the UAE President grants him the Zayed Medal,” Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed Bin Zayed had tweeted.
Seeing Modi’s exceptional efforts to strive for the welfare of the country and to build friendly ties with other nation, the Prime Minister was felicitated with many big awards by six different countries.
PM Modi was conferred with Arabian country’s highest civilian award- The King Abdulaziz Shash in 2016 and in the same year, Modi was awarded Afghanistan’s highest civilian honours- Amir Amanullah Khan Award.
Then in 2018, Modi was presented with ‘Grand Collar of the State of Palestine’ and in the same year, Modi was honoured highest award by United Nations- Champion of the Earth.
The Indian Prime Minister has also received the highest award by South Korea- Seoul Peace Prize in 2019 and recently, UAE government honoured PM Modi its highest civilian award- UAE Zayed Medal.
