Railways are the second fastest mode of transport and there as many as 8000-8500 railway stations across India, majority of which have been built more than decades ago. But still, there is a lot of revamping to do to modify the entire complexion, railway infrastructure.
It was only recently that Railway ministry directed the Senior Railway authorities to revamp as many as 690 railway stations across India, which will look extraordinary like the airports.
Just a month ago, Mathura railway station sported a new look which looked amazing. This time, it is the New Delhi railway station’s turn which has got revamped. With so many attractive designs and patterns, the station building looks ever so ‘vibrant and colourful’. It has a passenger-friendly and modern facilities like LCD displays, escalators, LED lights etc.
Recently, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, adding that with cleaner platforms, the railway station now also offers passengers the best convenience of energy generation from solar panels. Several railway stations have been renovated in the last few months like Jaipur Junction, Mathura Junction, Haridwar Junction, Lonavala station, Sainagar Shirdi station among others.
Piyush Goyal also went on to tweet about the development. Here’s his tweet:
