Punjab: Woman fed up with farmers protesting and blocking public roads

Farmers from various regions of Punjab are gearing up to march towards Delhi amidst heightened security measures and significant traffic restrictions along the routes connecting Delhi and Punjab. Simultaneously, a video featuring an elderly woman has gained traction on social media, purportedly showing her expressing disapproval of the protestors for causing disruptions in the daily lives of the people, showcasing her apparent frustration.

In the video, she can be observed vociferously addressing the demonstrators participating in a sit-in protest on the road. She says, “Your demands never end. You want everything for free. The Center is giving you so much for free, yet you are harassing the public and blocking roads.”

According to sources, Delhi Police has issued a travel advisory because of farmers reaching the Delhi border on February 13 seeking legal status for MSP and assurance from the government for procurement of all 22 crops under MSP. They are also demanding a loan waiver and a reduction in electricity charges.

Meanwhile, a top police officer said that Section 144 has been imposed in the entire Delhi city for the next 30 days ahead of the ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on February 13. On Monday, Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora issued this order. Police said anyone found violating the order will be immediately arrested. Based on information received from sources.
