Among the Bollywood singers, Neha Kakkar is one of the big names in the industry. The popular Indian playback singer started performing at a very early age at religious events and there was no turning back since then.
In 2005, she took part in the second season of the singing reality show, Indian Idol. She kick-started her Bollywood debut as a chorus singer in the movie by the name of Meerabai Not Out. She hogged the limelight with the release of the dance track “Second Hand Jawaani” from Cocktail (2012).
Besides that, she also sung several popular party songs, including the likes of “Sunny Sunny” from Yaariyan and “London Thumakda” from the 2014 soundtrack album Queen. Besides playback singing, she has featured in several music videos and as a judge on several television reality shows, including “Indian Idol”.
In 2019, she was featured among the most-viewed female artists on YouTube with a record 13.9 billion views. In January 2021, Neha became the first Indian singer to win a YouTube Diamond Award.
Neha Kakkar once lived in one-room rented house, but now owns a posh mansion in same place
Before the popular singer owned her luxurious bungalow in Rishikesh, she has seen some rough days in her career. For the unversed, with her family, she used to stay in a rented one-room house in the town.
She once shared two photos on her Instagram account wherein she is seen posing outside a grand bungalow. On the other picture, she is also seen next to her old home. Neha had mentioned that she and her family once stayed in one-room rented house.
She captioned her post, “This is the Bungalow we own now in Rishikesh and swipe right to see the house where I was born. In the same house we Kakkars used to stay in one room inside which my mother used to put a table, which was our kitchen in that small room. And that room also was not our own, we were paying rent. And now whenever I see our own bungalow in the same city, I always get emotional.”
Neha Kakkar labelled herself ‘self-made’, and thanked her family. “”Biggest Thanks to my family – Sonu Kakkar, Tonny Kakkar (both singers), mom, dad, mata rani and of course, all my well-wishers.”
