Mumbai Indians ran through a terrible 2022 season of this Indian Premier League. They ended up at the bottom of the points table. They could win only 4 games out of a total of 14 games. Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar still didn’t get into the playing XI of Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.
Several fans also demanded Arjun Tendulkar’s inclusion in the playing XI. We all know that Arjun Tendulkar is the son of Sachin Tendulkar. We all expected the 22-year-old to feature in the playing XI at least in the last game against Delhi Capitals.
Even MI captain Rohit Sharma said he would try new players in the last game. However, the MI team management didn’t include the youngster in the playing XI. Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar’s father, Sachin Tendulkar broke his silence after his son didn’t get a chance to play in IPL 2022.
Talking about the same, legendary Sachin Tendulkar said he has never involved himself in team selection in the first place. He further added that he leaves all these things to the team management because that is how he has always operated.
“And if we speak about selection, I have never involved myself in selection. I leave all these things to the (team) management because that is how I have always functioned.”
Arjun Tendulkar warmed the bench for two seasons for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Tendulkar expressed his views on a SachInsight when asked whether he would have liked to watch Arjun play this year.
To which he said, “This is a different question. What I am thinking or what I feel is not important. The season is already over. And my conversation with Arjun has always been that the path is going to be challenging, it is going to be difficult. You started playing cricket because you are in love with cricket, continue to do so, continue to work hard and results will follow.”
