Man orders Veg fried rice but gets shocked to find ‘Chicken’ inside it, Zomato responds!

Zomato, once hailed as India’s go-to food delivery platform, is facing serious criticism again—and this time, it’s not just about late deliveries or wrong orders. It’s about food negligence that directly affects people’s beliefs and dietary restrictions.

In a disturbing case, a customer named Nitesh Patil ordered vegetarian fried rice through Zomato but was horrified to find chicken pieces in it instead. He took to the social media platform X and wrote:

“Ordered #Veg Fried Rice but #zomatoindia delivered #chicken. This such a #blunder and best is the support ignored and refused #help”

He shared images and videos clearly showing the presence of chicken in his food, along with screenshots of his chat with Zomato support.

His complaint wasn’t just about a wrong order—it was about how deeply disrespectful and careless this mistake was for someone who follows a vegetarian diet strictly. He rightly called it:

“so #hurtfull and #traumatizing for people who do not eat #non-vegetarian”

Let’s be honest—this isn’t the first time Zomato has been accused of mixing up veg and non-veg orders. And each time, the pattern seems to repeat: a public outcry, a vague apology, and no real accountability.

Check out the response by Zomato

“Hi Nitesh, this is extremely upsetting for us as we deeply respect all dietary preferences. We’ve noted your order ID and will take this up with the restaurant partner and resolve it as quickly as possible.”

But this response didn’t calm the fire. Nitesh followed up with another post calling out their delay:

“#shameless no response yet! #zomato trying to run away from the #awful & #shameless act.”

Zomato replied again, asking for more time. But here’s the bigger issue: How many more “mistakes” like this will customers have to endure before Zomato truly fixes its systems?

Food is deeply personal. For many, it’s tied to religious beliefs, ethics, and lifelong habits. Delivering chicken instead of veg food is not just a simple error—it’s a violation of trust. And what’s worse is that the support team reportedly brushed it off, leaving the customer frustrated and unheard.

Zomato’s reputation has clearly taken a hit. From late deliveries to rising complaints about incorrect food and unhelpful support, many now believe the company has started prioritizing volume over quality.

If Zomato truly wants to be the people’s choice again, it needs to go beyond just saying “we care.” It needs to show it—with better quality checks, responsive support, and zero tolerance for food negligence. Because for many, food isn’t just food—it’s faith.
