In today’s fast-paced urban lives, grocery delivery apps like Zepto have become more than just a convenience, they are a lifeline for people juggling work, family, and hectic schedules.
Known for its lightning-fast 10-minute deliveries, Zepto has quickly grown into one of India’s most relied-upon platforms. But alongside rapid expansion comes a greater responsibility, especially when it concerns customer safety.

Unfortunately, a disturbing incident has surfaced from Kanpur’s Barra police station area that threatens to shake consumer confidence in the brand.
In what can only be described as a violation of privacy and trust, a Zepto delivery agent allegedly harassed a woman by sending her inappropriate messages on WhatsApp after 2:00 AM.

The screenshots, now circulating widely on social media, were shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user who brought the issue into public attention.
The post, written in Hindi, read:
“कानपुर का Zepto कंपनी का डिलीवरी बॉय रात को 2:00 बजे के बाद मैसेज कर महिला को कर रहा है परेशान… (A Zepto delivery boy in Kanpur is harassing a woman by sending messages after 2:00 am…)”
The post tagged several authorities including @Uppolice, @CMOfficeUP, and @cyberpolice_up, urging swift action and accountability. The victim has reportedly filed a formal complaint at Barra Police Station, and the case number, 6390437309, was also mentioned.
Zepto replied:-
Zepto responded quickly to the viral post. From its official support handle Zepto Cares, the company wrote:
“We understand your concern and want to make this right. Please DM us with your contact details so we can assist you further.”
While this response is standard protocol in today’s digital age, many users questioned whether it truly addresses the gravity of the situation.
What makes this incident even more concerning is that it isn’t the first time Zepto has faced such allegations. In December 2022, a woman from Khar, Mumbai, accused a Zepto delivery agent of molestation. Her social media post led to the arrest of the rider, but clearly, stronger steps are needed to prevent these breaches from happening again.
