Indian govt has shut down 32 airports for civilian flights, here is the list

Due to the increasing conflict between India and Pakistan, the Government of India has suspended civilian flights at 32 airports till May 14, 2025. This decision has been taken for security reasons, as a situation of military conflict has arisen between the two countries. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the concerned aviation authorities have issued a NOTAM for this.

According to sources, this step has been taken because of the recent military conflict between India and Pakistan. Both countries have accused each other of attacking military bases. Flights at airports have been temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of citizens. A list released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation indicates that most of the airports where flights have been suspended are in North India’s border areas.

The list includes Adhampur (Jalandhar), Ambala, Amritsar, Avantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Nalia, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hiraser), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise and Uttarlai.

Additionally, some other airports have also been closed due to security reasons. Other reports claim that AAI has also extended the temporary closure of 25 sections of air traffic service (ATS) routes within Delhi and Mumbai flight information regions (FIRs) due to operational reasons. Airlines and flight operators have been advised to plan alternate routings as per the existing air traffic advisory.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has requested passengers to reschedule their travel plans and confirm the status of their flights by contacting the respective airlines. Also, passengers have been advised to keep getting the latest information through government announcements and news sources.

The situation on the border is extremely tense, but the Indian Army is standing with full force on every front. For the last two nights, Pakistan has made nefarious attempts to infiltrate and launch missile attacks in India, but every time, the Indian air defense system destroyed them in the air. Now India has given a befitting reply; the enemy’s terrorist launchpad has been destroyed.
