After the success of Operation Sindoor, a frustrated Pakistan took an evil action to take revenge; about 10 innocent civilians lost their lives, and about 50 were injured. However, in retaliation, India destroyed air defense radars and systems in Lahore and many areas of Pakistan. Pakistan, which was stunned by the blow of Operation Sindoor, was once again defeated by the Indian Army.

According to sources, India destroyed Pakistan’s radar-based air defense system. This system was deployed at a Pakistani military base in Lahore. India took this action in response to Pakistan’s attempt to attack Indian military bases. The destroyed system was probably a Chinese-made HQ-16 (LY-80) medium-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system.
The air defense radar system is a key part of the country’s air defense. Its job is to detect any suspicious object flying in the sky, such as drones, missiles, or fighter aircraft, and target and disable them. In the areas of Pakistan where the Indian Army has destroyed the air defense radar system, it cannot detect any suspicious objects flying in the sky at present.
The HQ-16 is the export version of China’s LY-80 medium-range surface-to-air missile. The HQ-16 has features such as defense at low to medium altitudes, a range of 40 kilometers, the ability to hit targets at altitudes of 400 to 10,000 meters, and the ability to protect assets such as airports, bridges, command posts, and other important assets.
Pakistan has tried to target military bases in at least 15 cities from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat with missiles and drones. However, India’s air defense systems completely foiled these attacks. About 10 innocent civilians lost their lives and about 50 were injured in firing by Pakistan near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, including women and children.
Pakistan retaliated to this attack; India launched Operation Sindoor, destroying terrorist hideouts in 9 different locations in Pakistan. Pakistan should understand that it will get a befitting and decisive answer every time for its repeated nefarious activities.
