Meet a Proud father of Sophia Qureshi, he fought 1971 war against Pakistan

In the press conference about Operation Sindoor, army officer Sophia Qureshi gave a briefing about the attack, which made every citizen proud. Every Indian is overjoyed with the success of the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’. Sophia Qureshi’s father was also overjoyed to see this scene, and some of his statements are becoming quite viral on social media.

Colonel Sophia Qureshi’s father, Taj Mohammad Qureshi, said, “We are proud of our girl. She did something for the country.” Taj Mohammad said that he also fought during the Liberation War of Bangladesh. He says, “Now the only thing that comes to mind is that if we are given a chance now, we should go and finish them (Pakistan). Pakistan is not a country worth living in in the world.”

Qureshi said that joining the army has been a tradition of his family. His father and grandfather were in the army. After this, he also wore the army uniform, and now his daughter is carrying forward this tradition. Apart from her father, Sofia’s sister Shayna is also very proud of her. Seeing her sister briefing about the air strike in an army uniform brought tears to her eyes.

Shayna says, “We had a convo yesterday. She is a dutiful army officer, and hence, she did not say a single word about the incident that was to happen this morning. It was a surprise for all of us, but it was a matter of pride to see Sofia in this position.” Shayna also dreamed of joining the army, but despite all her efforts, she could not get selected. Whenever she sees Sofia in uniform, it seems that she is living her dream through her.

According to sources, Sofia always had the passion to do something for the country. However, she wanted to join DRDO as a scientist. It was her dream to work with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. She had received many offers from America, but she chose to stay in India and gave priority to serving the country by joining the army. Sofia joined the army in her first attempt.
