Abdali Missile Launch by Pakistan Sparks Security Concerns Amid Terror Accusations

After the Pahalgam terror attack, there is an atmosphere of fear in Pakistan amid tension with India. Pakistan recently announced the successful test of its surface-to-surface Abdali missile. A video showcasing the missile’s test launch was also shared online on Saturday.

According to sources, this test was probably part of the operational user trial conducted under the Army Strategic Forces Command (ASFC), which oversees Pakistan’s nuclear-capable missile forces. The test of the Abdali missile was part of Pakistan’s military exercise INDUS. Hatf-2 is another name for the Abdali missile.

Abdali missiles have a range of 450 kilometers. It is a ground-operated tactical ballistic missile developed by Pakistan’s Space Research Commission (SUPARCO). However, this missile cannot carry nuclear weapons.

There has been no official statement from India on this missile test, but the Indian Army and strategic institutions are keeping an eye on this incident. India has many times more modern and long-range missiles than Pakistan, including lethal capabilities like the Agni series, the Prithvi missile, and BrahMos. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, a state of war remains between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Space Research Commission (SUPARCO) and Defense Science and Technology Organization (DESTO) have jointly developed the Abdali missile. It is claimed to be a single-stage, solid-fuel, mobile ballistic missile with a range of 450 kilometers. Pakistan also claims that it can fly 500 kilometers with a payload and is capable of carrying advanced conventional ammunition (ICM). Its accuracy is about 100 to 150 meters circular error probability (CEP).

26 people were killed in this barbaric terrorist attack. A terrorist named Hashim Musa has been identified as one of the attackers. According to reports, he was a Pakistani army commando. This development has further escalated regional tensions. Intelligence agencies are on high alert, and diplomatic talks between India and Pakistan remain uncertain amid growing concerns over cross-border terrorism and military posturing. Both countries’ nuclear capabilities heighten global concerns over security.
