Nainital Erupts in Protest After 73-Year-Old Rapes Hindu Girl

A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Nainital. An innocent 12-year-old Hindu girl was raped several times and the girl was forced to keep quiet by threatening her. Massive outrage!! Angry Hindu groups took to the streets demanding action. Locals demanded action against outsiders renting shops and demographic change.

According to sources, 73-year-old Mohammad Usman raped a 12-year-old Hindu girl. The accused threatened the minor not to tell anyone about this. The minor was also so scared that she could not tell anything to her family. The minor’s grandmother became suspicious due to her being scared. She told her the whole story when she asked about the minor. She registered a case against the accused.

Dr. Geeta Khanna, chairperson of Uttarakhand Child Rights and Protection Commission, says that this is not only a gross violation of child rights but also a crime that shakes humanity. The accused had also misbehaved with the girl 2 months ago. After this, on 12th April, he again raped the girl by threatening her.

When people came to know about Usman’s misdeed, the whole city was in turmoil. Late at night in Mallital, hundreds of people came out on the streets and started creating a ruckus, and despite all the efforts of the police to stop them, they pelted stones at the religious place. Local people demanded action against outsiders renting shops and demographic change. Many shops were also vandalized.

The commission chairman says that the accused will not be spared. She will request the chief minister to run a bulldozer on the property of such an accused. The SSP has instructed the police to be alert regarding Jumme ki Namaaz. Police are deployed at every nook and corner. SSP Prahlad Narayan Meena says that the police are completely alert for tomorrow.
