About two years ago, Rajasekhar and his parents got into a dispute over how to split up their one acre of family land. The issue started because they couldn’t agree on the division. Earlier, they had already given 20 cents of land to their daughter Radha during her marriage. Later, with the help of some village elders, they finally settled it — the land was divided between Rajasekhar and his parents, and they kept aside 12 cents to clear off some debt.
Rajasekhar wanted to sell the remaining land rights away and take the money for himself. But when his parents refused and instead decided to register 30 cents of the land in their daughter’s name, Rajasekhar got furious. In anger, he started leveling part of the field with a tractor, planning to sell it off. When his parents tried to stop him, he completely lost control. In a fit of rage, he drove the tractor into a nearby cornfield, chasing after them, and in his anger, he ran them over, killing both of them on the spot.
According to the police, the victims have been identified as Pandaranki Appalanaidu (55) and his wife, Jaya (45). They had two children — a son, Rajasekhar, and a daughter, Radha Kumari.
