“He asked me to lift my shirt, show him my stomach” – Payal Rohatgi accuses movie director

Payal Rohatgi is a popular Indian actress and reality TV performer who features in Bollywood films. For the record, she was a contestant in the reality show Bigg Boss in 2008. In 2022, she took part in ALT Balaji’s reality television.

In September 2014, the veteran actress made her television debut on the Sony TV show Humsafars. In February 2022, the 37-year-old actress made a stunning comeback to showbiz industry as she took part in the OTT reality show Lock Upp.

The actress once went on to accuse the movie director by the name of Dibaker Banerjee by stating that once he had offered her to be part of the film by delivering him some pleasure. However, Payal simply turned down the offer in the first place.

“Dibakar came to my house and commented that I had gained weight. He asked me to lift my shirt and show him my stomach. I didn’t like it. I told him I was in no mood for jokes. But he did not agree. I told him to leave,” she added.

Casting couch is something which has been happening behind the scenes and it is not at all a new concept rather it is as old as our civilization. People started noticing it very recently. Several actresses have been a victim of harassment in the Film Industry as well.

The casting couch is a practice of asking for sexual favours from a job applicant in exchange for a job in the entertainment industry, especially acting roles. The casting couch originally referred to physical couches in the casting office. This practice is termed illegal in the United States.

Male casting directors, as well as, film producers use the casting couch in a bid to extract sex from ambitious actresses in Hollywood, Bollywood and other segments of the cinema industry.

Unfortunately, it seems that casting couch exists in every film industry and it is really scary. The newcomers, perhaps, are not treated properly by some directors or producers.
