Kamya Panjabi is a popular Indian film and TV actress popular for portraying antagonist roles in TV soaps. She took part in Bigg Boss 7 in 2013 and joined the Indian National Congress party on 27 October 2021.
She became known for playing negative roles in Indian TV serials such as Reth, Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani and Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann. Panjabi played positive roles in Piya Ka Ghar, Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak and Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar.
Moreover, she was part of the second season of Comedy Circus comedy show on Sony TV and took part in Bigg Boss 7 in Colors TV.
Besides that, she has also starred in minor roles in Bollywood movies like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Yaadein, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Koi Mil Gaya. In 1997, she starred in a music video clip called Mehndi Mehndi. Besides that, she was also part of the music video Kala Shah Kala by Anamika.
In 2019, she made her theatre debut in the play Pajama Party with fellow TV actress Kavita Kaushik. She married Bunty Negi in 2003 and gave birth to her daughter Aara in 2009. They divorced in 2013.
She later dated TV actor Karan Patel but they broke up in 2015. She married her boyfriend, a Delhi-based doctor Shalabh Dang on 10 February 2020.
Kamya Punjabi apparently took dig at Colors but that did not go very well with a troll who targeted her divorce.
Netizens believed Kamya Punjabi was talking about the same legacy as she hinted at Bigg Boss 16 and tweeted, “History Will Repeat.”
On the other hand, fans of Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and the show were annoyed by the comment. “@iamkamyapunjabi history will repeat because you’ll take divorce from your 2nd husband too.??? divorcee got no chill,” she wrote.
Replying to the same, she gave it back to the hater and wrote, “Aur kuch kehna hai aapko? Apni gandagi ki dukaan kahi aur le jaaiye, u guys don’t even know what I am talking about but you have to spread ur dirt everywhere! Breathe, have some water n tell ur mother to teach u some manners!”
