Alia Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter, is currently 29 years old. She is one of the highest-paid actresses in the Bollywood film industry. She tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor recently.
The actress and singer of Indian origin and British citizenship works primarily in Bollywood films. The actress was highly praised for her stunning performances in Raazi and Gully Boy, which is India’s official entry to the Oscars.
Forbes listed her in India’s Celebrity 100 list in 2014 and was also featured by Forbes Asia in their 30 Under 30 list of 2017. As of 2019, her accolades include four Filmfare Awards. She is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan.
She has often hit the headlines more often than not as a result of her bizarre and irrational comments during interviews. During a recent interaction, she had opened up about being perceived as dumb and said that she loves it.

“I love it when people think that I am unintelligent, or that ‘oh she is so dumb.’ I genuinely do, because they make so many memes on me which add to the popularity, and then it’s like you are loving my movies.
“So there is possibly something that I am doing right in the movie business…I also want to put out this message for young girls– general knowledge and bookish intelligence in my opinion is not intelligence. To survive in a world, you have to have a certain emotional intelligence, which is possibly the highest form of intelligence,” she said.
Alia also confessed that she doesn’t remember what she read in the books in her school. However, at the same time, she remembers her interactions with the teachers and students.
“My father says ‘rather be stupid than pretend to be intelligent.’ I had this interview on 23rd July when somebody asked me who is the President of India and I was like right now the ceremony hasn’t happened yet, so I am not sure what to say.
So I would rather not say anything… In my defence, for the millionth time, I knew who the President of India was (in 2013). It was just confusing. You put anybody in the spot and ask them to give an answer, all wrong answers come out.”
