Here’s what Kareena said when asked about Saif Ali Khan’s reaction on Vidya Balan’s ‘The Dirty Picture’

Cinemas are not only a source of entertainment but also serve a purpose for the education of the common masses. Several Bollywood films have sparked controversies owing to its content.

Vidya Balan’s acting in the dirty picture has been described as the ‘single boldest performance by a woman in the history of Indian cinema’. The film is centered around the tragedy of bold actress Silk Smitha, who ends her life after several scandals.

The film has been banned in Qatar as it is too erotic for the orthodox audience. Meanwhile, Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor opened up about her now-husband, actor Saif Ali Khan in a 2012 interview, when she was asked about Vidya Balan’s Dirty Picture.

Kareena had said Saif Ali Khan had not even watched it and was avoiding her every time she had asked him to watch the movie with her. Kareena Kapoor further added he was maybe frightened that she would want to do a similar movie.

“Vidya Balan is definitely the hero of 2011… I don’t know if I would have taken the risk (to do a film like The Dirty Picture), but even if I did I would have balanced it out by making sure there is a Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan in the film so that even if the film flops there is something that will balance it,” Kareena had told India Today.

She further added, “I don’t know, may be I should ask Saif Ali Khan this. He hasn’t even watched it. Everytime I ask him to watch it he says yeah yeah; perhaps he’s afraid that I’d want to do something similar.”
