Ram Gopal Verma terms Student of Year as “Disaster”, Karan gave quick reply

Karan Johar is a famous Indian filmmaker and television personality. He predominantly works in the Bollywood film industry. For the unversed, he had launched the careers of many successful actors under his own Dharma Productions.

Moreover, he is also the recipient of several accolades including a National Film Award and six Filmfare Awards. He has been honoured with Padma Shri, the country’s fourth-highest civilian award by the Government of India in 2020.

He is the son of producer Yash Johar. Karan made his directorial debut with the romantic comedy-drama Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) which earned him the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, the Filmfare Award for Best Director and the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay.

For the unversed, the 50-year-old Mumbai-born had ventured into other avenues of the entertainment industry. He also hosts a television talk show, Koffee with Karan, a dating show What the Love! and a radio show Calling Karan. Apart from that, he has appeared as a judge on competition reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, India’s Got Talent, India’s Next Superstars.

When Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma engaged in a Twitter war

Earlier, Ram Gopal Varma made a complete mockery of Karan’s My name is Khan and Kurbaan and tweeted, “got a better idea… I will make My name is Raavan and Mani should make Raavan Ki Kurbaani.”

Meanwhile, Karan Johar who came across the tweet took a dig at Ram Gopal Verma. Karan replied: “You have an amazing sense of humour Ramu (Varma)! Never shows up in your films though RGV’s rejoinder.”

Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma engaged in a Twitter war and the tweets of the same went viral on social media.

“If someone takes off from Karan johar’s Student of the year and makes Teacher of the year it will become the Disaster of the year,” Ram Gopal Varma tweeted.

“@RGVzoomin ….Disaster of the year is your territory Ramu…no one can ever replace the comfortable place you have made for yourself there,” Karan Johar replied.
