Team India played against the Pakistan cricket team in the Super 4 Stage of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 competition held at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Pakistan won the battle by beating India by 5 wickets.

Mohammad Nawaz who scored 40 off 20 balls and took one wicket was named the man of the match for his all-round performance. Earlier, India beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in the group stage fixture of the Asia Cup.

Needless to say, Pakistan made a stellar comeback in the Super 4 stage and secured an emphatic win when it really mattered the most. Pakistan are now second on the points table whereas Sri Lanka are on top of the table.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won a game apiece. On the other hand, Team India are yet to win a game in the Super 4 stage. They will play against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on September 6 and 8 respectively.

India will have to win the next two games in order to stay in the fight. The Men in Blue will have to play incredibly well in order to improve their Net Run Rate, which comes into the picture later on.

Mohammad Hafeez comes out in support of Arshdeep Singh

During the 18th over of Pakistan’s innings in the run-chase, Arshdeep Singh dropped a regulation catch as he had an opportunity to dismiss Asif Ali for a cheap score.

However, Asif Ali made use of the opportunity by smashing two boundaries and a six to provide a ray of hope for Pakistan. The Green Shirts clinched a memorable win.

After the game, fans took to social media to launch a scathing attack on youngster Arshdeep Singh as he dropped an easy catch. However, former Pakistan captain, Mohammad Hafeez comes out in support of the youngster.

Had Arshdeep Singh taken the catch, it would have been a different story altogether. However, Mohammad Hafeez took to Twitter to defend Arshdeep Singh.
